Walter James Grovell Jr.

Walter James Grovell, Jr. peacefully closed his eyes on January 27, 2022 at Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Bronx, NY to Walter Grovell, Sr. and the late Delores Grovell. Walter attended FIT High School and pursued additional education at New York University School of Continuing Education. Walter then proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed at Red Lion Controls until his illness progressed. Walter was a family man, who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his loss, his Father, Walter Grovell, Sr., (Carlotta); two daughters: Nelijia Grovell and Andrea Little (Terry); son, Mark Newman (Deanna); nine grandchildren: Ajani, Amahj, Nalani, Yamani, Janiyah, Breaijia, Jewelz, Bradley, & Terry; two sisters: Jessie Grovell & Delcina Sanders (Herman); a nephew: Jamel; a niece: Dajanai (Trey); along with a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Delores & sister Wanda. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market Street, York with Rev. Shane Moore officiating. A viewing will be held Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
