March 3, 1948 - August 20, 2020
Virginia Ann Colvin, 72, died peacefully at home on Thursday, August 20, 2020. Born in Willimantic, CT on March 3, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William and Althea (Oemcke) Brennan. Virginia “Ginny” paired her love for travel with her occupations throughout her life. Ginny started with United Airlines as a young adult and moved from New York to Colorado where she would eventually settle and start a family. Ginny traveled whenever she could, visiting Greece, Spain, Mexico, and Austria. She was an adventurous, spunky lady that took rafting trips down the Colorado River, loved camping, and taking spontaneous road trips with family and friends. She eventually moved to Virginia with her daughters and enjoyed working for Airline Tariff Publishing Company for over 20 years from which she would retire. Virginia’s main love in life was family. She was proud to be one of seven children and was a dedicated and loving sister. She treasured her two daughters and embraced every moment spent together. Ginny loved her role as Grandma/Muma to her five grandchildren, instilling in them her vivacious personality, sense of humor, and mischievous antics. Virginia is survived by her daughters, Karin Foster of Mount Wolf, PA and Tess Longoria of Hurst, TX; her son-in-law Cullen; and her brothers and sisters, Bill Brennan, Steve Brennan, Althea Avakian, and Christine Hicks. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Alissa and Alexandra Longoria, and Brennan, Drew, and Caeden Foster. Virginia was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Norman and Mary Brennan. In order to accommodate for friends and family near and far, a celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at a later date. Contributions in Virginia’s memory may be made to Langley Residential Support Services, 2070 Chain Bridge Road, Suite G55, Vienna, VA 22182. Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York, PA 17403.
