Robert G. Paules Jr.
February 25, 2022
Robert G. Paules, Jr., 86 of York, PA, died at his residence on February 25, 2022. Robert Paules was a man of love, devotion, craftsmanship and honor. He was a man of God and may he rest peacefully under His watch. He is survived by his most beloved wife, Phyllis, whom he spent 66 very happy years with. Together they owned a candy shop where they lived above with their 3 children for 15 years. He was a member of the Optimist Club of West York where he was President for a time as well as a member of the West York Borough Council where he gave back to his community. To show his devotion to his wife, with his own two hands, he built them a beautiful dream home that they lived in for many years. After he retired, they moved to Lewes Beach, DE. While in Delaware he was a member of the Odd Fellow Council where he continued his service to his community. Bob loved the warm weather and taking his daily walks around the community, making sure to share a smile with all. He was known for being the man that could fix anything broken that needed a delicate artists touch. They would visit the beach and sit and watch the waves as he loved sharing time with his wife and the peacefulness of the ocean. Bob and Phyllis were blessed with a time of living in Florida, which he absolutely loved. The hotter the better! He continued his walks, his talks and love for community and was always at the gatherings with all the women playing cards and making them laugh! He had an infectious laugh and smile. His pride and joy were his children whom he is also survived by. His eldest and most loyal son, Robert III, his “Angel”, as he called her, daughter Sheri Kuhn and his most trusted and youngest son Todd. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 1 whom lives in the piece of art he built years and years ago as well as 4, soon to be 5, great grandchildren. He knew how to make all of them feel loved and special. His love for his family will truly be missed. His sisters Cindy and Sue as well as brother Dale are also family he cherished and remain close to the York area. Bob was known for his kind heart, artistic abilities, love for warm weather, Penn State Athletics and most importantly his love for his wife & children. He never came home without thinking about his dear Phyllis and bringing her home a treat he knew she’d be excited about. He had a soft and sweet heart especially for the ones he loved most. He would have loved to finish his years in Florida playing cards with the ladies in their community, soaking in the warmth during his walks and using his artistic skills to better their community while spending time with his wife. God had another plan for him and due to his health they needed to return to York where they have lived the past 4 years. Even in his final months, weeks and days he made the ones he cherished most feel special, loved and taken care of. A gentle touch, hand hold or that beautiful smile. This is how his friends, family and others should remember him. The kind, selfless man who built beautiful things, would always have a conversation with a stranger, that personality shined bright the way the sun does and that loved his sweets and treats. But most of all the man who loved his wife and his family. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St. York, PA. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens following the service. There will be no viewing nor visitation.
