Robert S. “Bob” Hinkle, 89, of East Prospect died March 2, 2021. He was the husband of the late Judy H. (Townsley) Hinkle. Bob and Judy were married for 44 years prior to her death in 2015. Born June 29, 1931 in Hellam Township, he was the son of the late Charles Stoner and Flora Mae (Smith) Hinkle. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a Quartermaster in the 2nd Infantry Division. After 47 years, Bob retired from Donsco, Inc. as a machine shop foreman. Bob was a 1949 graduate of Hellam High School. He attended Calvary Bible Church. Bob was very passionate about helping with Meals on Wheels for the Lower Windsor Senior Center. He was also involved with Release Time with Wrightsville and Canadochly Elementary School and Christians in Action (CIA) with the middle school students. He also participated with York County Prison Ministries. Bob won several league titles as a coach for Yorkana Youth Baseball. He also played baseball for Hellam in the Susquehanna League. He was a lifetime fan of all sports at Eastern York High School. He was a member of Riverside Lodge #503, F.&A.M. He is survived by his five sons, Robert Hinkle of Marietta, Daniel Hinkle and wife, Patti of Columbia, Thomas Hinkle of Wrightsville, Andrew Hinkle of Hellam, and Mark “Markus” Hinkle and wife, Tammy Gochnauer Hinkle of Rocky Point, N.C.; four daughters, Yvonne Nobile of Hanover, Kathe Shank and husband, Jim of Perry, Ga., Patricia Teaster and husband, Steve of Banner Elk, N.C. and Lori Rudisill of Banner Elk, N.C.; a step daughter, Gina Frey Jones and husband, Tim of Wrightsville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lehman of York. He was preceded in death by a son, Tim Hinkle; 2 step sons, James and Scott Frey; and his brothers and sisters, Charles, Gene, Larry, James, and Samuel Hinkle, Grace Haugh, and Margaret Campbell. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 125 Calvary Church Road, Wrightsville, Pa 17368 with Pastor Rodney Pearce officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with graveside Military Rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. both at the church.
