Gregory K. Spillman

November 6, 1967 - June 16, 2022

Gregory K. Spillman, 54, of York died June 16, 2022 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Krista (Darrah) Spillman. Greg and Krista were married for 10 years on November 4, 2021. Born November 6, 1967 in York, he was the son of Martha M. (Campbell) Spillman of York and the late Glenn R. Spillman. Greg was employed by General Dynamics as a Supply Chain and Operations Executive. He was previously employed with Assurant Solutions and JLS Automations. Greg was a 1986 graduate of Central York High School and received his degree in Marketing and Management from York College of Pennsylvania in 1990. He was a long time member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Greg served on the Board of Directors for Shadowfax Corp for 13 years. He loved to watch and participate in sports especially when his children or nieces and nephews were playing. He was an avid basketball and softball player. He loved to work out and show off his muscles especially when he could compare them to his sons. Greg coached the Central York Middle School Boys Basketball team, the West York Varsity Boys Basketball team, Manchester Township Girls Basketball Team, and the Panthers Baseball Team. Attending concerts with his wife and listening to music especially 80's music was a pastime of Greg's. He was always dancing, making funny faces and cracking a lot of dad jokes. He loved to have Sunday family dinners at home with family and friends who became family. He always loved ending Sunday evening sitting by the fire with a cigar and a Busch Apple. When the kids had candy around him, rest assured, he would steal the red ones only and laugh about it. He was involved in every single aspect of his children's lives. He was their biggest cheerleader, mentor, rock, and influencer. The love that he and his wife shared was something out of a story book. He loved his wife and children so much and he bragged about them to anyone that would listen. He put every ounce of his heart into his family and friendships. In addition to his wife, Krista and his mother, Martha, Greg is survived by his 6 children, Skyler Darrah and his wife, Tabi, Trenton Dunnick, Kalynne Dunnick, Sydney Spillman, Marley Spillman, and Charlee Spillman all of York; a grandson, Owen Darrah; a brother, Jeffrey Spillman and his wife, Tisha of York; a sister, Jennifer Wagner and her husband, Matthew and their children, Tyler, Jared, and Allison; and many nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by a son, Cameron Gage Spillman A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 West Market Street, York with the Rev. Kevin Fair officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be set up for Greg’s children.
