Elydia Lina “Lil” Downs (Lindeman), 82, went into the arms of her loving Father, on Sunday, December 20, 2020. She was a devoted wife to the late Jack D. Downs for nearly 55 years before his passing in 2015. Born and raised in Cincinnati to German immigrants, Lil went on to graduate from Concordia Teachers College to be a Christian school teacher before she retired as a nutritionist for St. John Lutheran School. She enjoyed traveling, bird watching, sewing, camping, and playing cards. She was proud of her German heritage, was a devout Christian, a loyal and giving friend, and most importantly a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Linda White and her husband, Steve; son, David and his wife, Lori; granddaughters, Wanda and Gabrielle; grandsons, Steven and Kevin; and great grandchildren, Kole, Kamille, Konner, and Collin. She was preceded to Heaven by her husband, Jack; daughter, Lisa; grandson, Nehemiah; and brother, Roy. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York. Please gather at the entrance to the cemetery at 11:15 a.m. to attend. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or Friendship Community Church to care for those in need.
