Doris M. Mauss

Doris M. (Beck) Mauss, 94, died on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Autumn House East. She was the wife of the late Carl James Mauss. Doris was born in Wrightsville on September 21, 1926, daughter of the late George and Janet (Filbey) Beck. Doris graduated from Wrightsville High School, Class of 1944. She worked in Advertising for the former Mailman’s and in her later years, worked for Save Mart. Doris was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and smocking dresses for her granddaughters and she loved her cat. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl A. Wintermyer (Michael) of York; four grandchildren, Kristin Longwell (Alex), Daniel Snyder (Lori), Dana Snyder, and Dori Rudacille (Marshall); six great grandchildren; and her brother, George Beck. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Snyder; and her good friend, Gene Myers. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 North Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
