Connie Ilene Stine

Connie Ilene Stine, 77, of York died Thursday, February 24, 2022 at her residence. She was the wife of Edward A. Stine. Connie and Ed were married for 24 years on August 23, 2021. Born August 22, 1944 in York, she was the daughter of the late Bernice B. (Wilt) and Emmert C. Schauer, Jr. Connie was a registered nurse for 40 years at York Hospital where she devoted most of that time in the PACU. She retired in 2010. Her unwavering dedication to the nursing profession and her patients was truly amazing and a natural part of her being. Her nursing spirit lives on through the next 2 family generations of nurses. Connie graduated from York Suburban High School in 1962 and from Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in 1965. Growing up and raising her family in Bethany United Methodist Church, she continued her spiritual life as a long-time member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. There, she gave her talent and time to the Cool Knitting/ Warm Fellowship Group and the Backpack Program. Connie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and counted cross stitching. She also had fun playing recreational and league tennis and bowling. Above all, her grandchildren and family remained the most important part of her life. In addition to her devoted husband, Ed, she is survived by her son, David Ehrhart and his wife, Michelle of York; her daughter, Traci Ehrhart Kinst and her husband, Thomas of Pittsburgh; 3 step children, Celese Stonebraker and her husband, James of York, Darret Stine of York, and Denene Ritchey of Glen Rock; 6 grandchildren, Madison and Molly Ehrhart and Jack, Mae, Kate and Claire Kinst; 6 step grandchildren, Alyssa and Kelci Stonebraker, Grace Stine-Pittinger, and Chance, McKenzie, and Adam Ritchie; a sister, Nanette Sandy and her husband, Ray of Red Lion; and 2 brothers, Jerry Schauer of West Chester and Randy Schauer, Esq. of Berwyn. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 311 Haines Road, York with the Rev. Joshua D. Gill, her pastor, officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church. A time of fellowship will follow the service in Fellowship Hall of the church.
