Anthony "Tony" Jacob Kowalewski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Anthony “Tony” Jacob Kowalewski, 81, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Wellspan York Hospital in York, PA. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 27, 1940, son of the late Elizabeth and George Stulock and Anthony Joseph Kowalewski. Tony was a distinguished U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1972. He went on to pursue a career in construction which led him to spend time in the remodeling business with his late brother, George Stulock. He later settled in on a career in warehouse and distribution management, retiring in January 2006 after 18 years at Eklof Industries in Landover, MD. Tony was very fond of music, dancing, motorcycles (although he never bought one), and a good book. He also enjoyed watching baseball and soccer in his “red TV room”, being “Mr. Fix It”, playing horseshoes, and hard-shell crabs with an icy cold beer. He especially enjoyed travelling with his wife and friends and watching his grandchildren participate in their sports and performing arts activities. Whether you knew him as Tony, Dad, Pop, Sonny, Jake, or Ski you knew that he was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, son in law, and friend who always put others first. His selfless and caring nature will be dearly missed. Tony is survived by his wife, Linda, whom he married on November 25, 1961; three sons, Tony and his wife, Hope of York, PA, Jason and his wife, Linnea Kessler-Gowell of Falls Church, VA, and Matthew and his wife, Angie of Sykesville, MD. He was the very proud “Pop” of seven grandchildren, Hannah, Carter, Nicole, Alena, Jackson, Evan, and Miles. The Memorial Service scheduled for July 24, 2022 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
